Discovery is at the core of all architecture. It is essential to seek out creative design solutions through art and science in every building design. The average North American spends 90% of their life inside of a building. Architecture, in addition to being a place of refuge, needs to be a place of discovery, vision, inspiration, hope & security.
Communication is the foundation of all our projects and the key to success. This is accomplished by listening to our client’s needs and setting up benchmarks to make sure these needs are met. GNA understands that every project requires a synergetic partnership between the owner, contractor and architect. Clear, honest and frequent communication is paramount to a successful project.
GNA’s goal in sustainability is to produce architecture that truly embodies the definition of the word. Defendable, justifiable, maintainable, supportable, tenable; it is crucial to design with natural, cultural and economic efficiency. This is an integral component of every aspect in the process of producing buildings. This entails the study of materials, quality, energy efficiency, space, style, health, durability, ecology, culture, society and the economy. The objective is to develop buildings that operate efficiently on every level and are uniquely designed to support the occupants.
The power of BIM in architecture and how we use it: GNA uses BIM (Building Information Modeling) as a tool to improve our client’s expectations and make it easier to understand and visualize the overall design. GNA’s team utilizes BIM’s capabilities to streamline information to the owner, contractor and design team; this allows our team to spend proportionally more time developing designs and less time on background coordination. BIM allows our team to create quality construction documents more effectively by integrating a 3D model – for layout, coordination, documentation and scheduling.
